What are the Notes when using the Plastic Flame Retardant ? 

A: What are the Nots when using the Plastic Flame Retardant ? 

B:   This is a very Professinoal and wise question , Because to ensure succesfully reach the Flame retarancy Modification , there is really several important requirements for the Product Formula and even related to the final product thickness . 

1. Requirement on product formula: 

1). Due to that inorganic fillers like cac03 ,tio2 , talc ,glass fiber , baso4 , wax  all effects the Flame  Retardant performance , especially Caco3 , its better not to contain any caco3 in your product formula when you want to reach V0 by adding Flame retardant  . Caco3 could even make the Flame retardant useless . 

When your product formula cant aovid to use the tio2 , or talc , or glass fiber , or baso4 , or wax  , its okay to add them , but meanwhile need to add higher dosage of Flame Retardant to keep the good Flame retardancy perforamance . 

2). Must predry the Flame retardant with products all raw materials together to remove the moisture  . because moisture will decrease the Flame Retardant Performance . 

2. Final product thickness issue :  Generally , the thinner the final product ,the high dosage of the flame retardant need to add to ensure good Flame Retardant .

3. The adverse effect when using Flame retardant : it decreases the Notch impact strength /toughness / flexibility . 

So when choose the Flame Retardant, better to choose Flame retardant with less dosage , thus its adverse effect on impact strength /toughness /flexibility would be much less and even be ignored . 

4 . Very Important: 

    1)we have PP Flame Retardant P-25 with only 3-6% dosage . so ensure not effect other physical properties

    2) And Because ABS flame retardant dosage genearally high around 22%,. but because our ABS flame retardant already contains impact modifier inside , so even high dosage of ABS flame retardant ,it nearly no effect on other properties .

    3) We have transparent impact modifier which could use with Flame retardant together and ensure not effect the Flame retardancy for customer who have both impact strength and flame retardancy modification requirement.
