How to Make Recycled ABS get Impact 20JK/m2 ?
A: I have Recycled ABS 10 KJ/m2 impact , want 20JK/m2 impact, How to Make it?
B: In fact For Virign ABS its much easy , but for Recycled ABS , its very hard and difficult . its really high requirement.
A: theres really no any solution to make Recycled ABS 10 KJ/m2 impact to 20JK/m2 impact ?
B : Recycled ABS contains any flame retardant contents or HIPS or other mateirals inside ?
A: Sometimes yes , Impurities maybe around 5%, flame retardant contents ---no zero .
B: Good that recycled abs not contains flame retardant contents , because flame retardant decrease the impact strength a lot , even add impact modifier and will get effected
by flame retardant , makes more difficult to reach high izod impact strength ,and must add much higher dosage of ABS impact modifier . which will increase cost a lot meanwhile.
Impurities HIPS PC or other materials around 5% could add our ARGIOPE® A-6648 or A-688 ABS impact modifier , which also contains compatibilizer , so means by adding our ABS impact modifier , not only improve the impact strength ,but also improve the ABS compatibility with impurities , by solving Silver streaking, Bubbles,Flow marks,Delamination,Peeling issues because compatibility problems . and improve impact strength/toughness/flexibility /softness ,thus to solve the recycled ABS brittle problems .
A: Good ! so by adding ARGIOPE® A-6648 or A-688 ABS impact modifier could help Recycled ABS 10 KJ/m2 impact to reach 20JK/m2 impact?
B: Yes but need to use this ABS production formulas suggested by JINDAQUAN Experienced engineer :
Recycled ABS 70% + Virgin ABS 30% + 4-6% ARGIOPE® A-6648 or A-688 ABS impact modifier
Also If your recycled ABS want to improve the glossy and make it more shinny looking like virgin new ABS materials ?
A : that would be great ,yes sometimes we need glossy sufurace ABS , sometimes we need matt looking surface in ABS .
B: to get glossy surface in ABS , heres the ABS production formular suggested :
Recycled ABS 70% + Virgin ABS 30% + ARGIOPE® A-6648 ABS impact modifier 4%-6% + Argiope® A-388 Gloss additive
to get matt looking surface in ABS , heres the ABS production formular suggested :
Recycled ABS 70% + Virgin ABS 30% + ARGIOPE® A-688 ABS impact modifier 4%-6% + Argiope® A-5383 Matt Agent
